My journey
As a child I faced health issues and attempted to navigate a complex world with a highly sensitive nature.
Since then, I have sought out teachers, paths and supports along the way.
The elements, especially water, have been a constant companion in my therapeutic process.
In this image I am offering flowers at sunrise during a particularly intense transitional time in my life.
This place on the Big Island of Hawai’i was later covered by lava, dissolving the waters of the place into new, raw land.
This has stayed in my heart as a symbolic understanding of the process of grief and loss in relation to offering and gratitude.
The waters and land constantly changing remind us of our own impermanence and vulnerablity.
The therapeutic journey often asks us to dissolve our old selves, cultivate a place of grace receiving gratitude and be open to the support along the way.
Living in the Pacific Northwest now for over a decade, I have come to know the rivers as a place of sanctuary, a place to cultivate mindfulness, to let go, to connect and learn from nature itself.
Learning to practice a quality of awareness and mindfulness has been essential in facing my own difficult situations, navigating ways to support clients and tending to those at the end-of-life, in their most vulnerable moments.
My therapeutic experience
I have over 25 years of experience providing counseling, energy healing and holistic therapeutic support to individuals, groups, and communities.
I worked as a a volunteer and medical hospice social worker for the past eight years. I facilitate grief and loss groups including Death Cafe and served as project manager for LGBTQ+ Grief & Loss initiative at Care Partners Hospice.
For more than two and a half decades, my work has included community-based projects in South India, Hawaiʻi, and across the mainland United States.
I support Indigenous-led efforts as an advocate, ally, and steward of the earth and her waters. I currently serve as treasurer for the Pacific Northwest Council of Water Protectors.
As a trained yoga and meditation teacher, I integrate mindfulness, meditation, and awareness practices into my therapeutic work.
My clinical and spiritual focus centers on death and dying, grief and loss, trauma, intergenerational healing, ancestral work, and the many forms of transition that shape our lives.
Alongside working with death, I hold deep reverence for non-death losses and transitions, including spiritual initiations, gender transitions, relationship shifts, and ceremonial processes of letting go.
As a queer person, I have a special affinity for working with LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. I am committed to ongoing training in anti-racism, decolonization, and culturally responsive care.
